When someone describes an event as being modern, what does that actually mean?
To me it means: clean lines; fresh ideas; simple floral arrangements with succulents and herbs or no floral at all (like curly willow or cherry branches); minimal table clutter; organic/raw linens and runners; unique chairs like ghost chairs or from a Swedish school of design; whimsical cakes - cupcakes or donuts; short gowns; new color combos like grey and yellow; creating intimate spaces where your guests can escape with lounge furniture; and of course - personal touches, specific to the couple alone, this makes a wedding oh so special, memorable and modern. What a beauty!

Story Board Thursdays: Champagne Dreams
Inspired by decades past, champagne evokes romance, luxury and refinement. Delicate and feminine, champagne is the perfect neutral, working seamlessly with gold, rose, crystal and sage!
Chair Decor is now carrying champagne rosette runners, which enhance our champagne satins and works perfectly with our Taupe Dream line.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Story Board Thursdays
Starting today, and every Thursday here after, I will feature a story board. I want to showcase an event look that inspires me, or pushes the boundaries with new trends and imaginative details. There are so many gorgeous table scapes, weddings, events, decorative accessories and romantic details out there, the possibilities are endless!
Because we are a rental company, we don't always get the chance to see first hand the finished look of the room during events. We are usually the first ones to set-up, and the last ones to tear-down, so we never get to snap photos of the finished product. Sometimes we get lucky and our clients send us decor photos of the room from their photographer's photo shoot. So for this exercise, I am going to use images from my favorite Blog, Style Me Pretty, and infuse them with my photos and other inspiration. Style Me Pretty by far has the best spectrum of trendy details and classic looks, the perfect combo for story boards!
Today, Cobalt Blue is my inspiration. Thanks to Miss Kate Middleton and her fabulous engagement frock and sapphire ring, hues of blue are taking the wedding decor world by storm. With the Royal Wedding right around the corner (only 2 more weeks to go!) deep shades of blue are this spring's hottest color.

Don't forget to head over to www.stylemepretty.com to create your own Cobalt Blue inspired wedding board. Or pop into the shop to see our selection of Cobalt, Navy and Royal Blue linens.

Where Have all the Blog Posts Gone?
Good Question!
I have clearly been busy in the last few weeks to post what Chair Decor has been up to. Since so much as gone on between Christmas and today, I feel like a photo story will be the best way to show you what you have missed. I have however, been able to stay up to date with our Wedding Lunch Blog, which you can find at www.weddinglunch.com for all the pretty details from our February 27, 2011 event.
In a nutshell, this is what Chair Decor has been up to over the last 4 months:
Wedding Fair 2011, at the Westin Bayshore
Christmas Parties and Gala Dinners:
Show Room Updates, January/February: Silver, Black, White and Crystal
Showroom Update, March: Jewel Blues, Navy and hints of Black and White
The Wedding Lunch, February 27, 2011 at The Stanley Park Pavilion:
I think sums up most of it! We did a few weddings, but still waiting for photographs to be released, check back soon for more event photos!
